A partnership for National Alopecia Areata Awareness Month
QIQ (“Kick”) Skincare partners with the Children's Alopecia Project to help kids feel comfortable in their own skin
For kids living with alopecia, feeling comfortable in their own skin is both an emotional need and a literal one. Every QIQ Skin Savior Cleansing Spray helps fund CAP's camps, school visits, and community — turning everyday care into real-world support.

The Announcement
A partnership launched for National Alopecia Areata Awareness Month
Los Angeles, CA — August 31, 2026
QIQ — pronounced “kick” — the hypochlorous acid skin-health brand from Clinical Health Technologies USA, is partnering with the Children's Alopecia Project (CAP): the only nonprofit devoted specifically to children living with all forms of alopecia. Kicking off in September, the partnership turns everyday purchases into camp scholarships, school visits, and thoughtfully formulated daily care.
“Children should be thinking about camp, friends, school and everything they want to try next — not feeling defined by their condition.”
Jody Nicholas · QIQ Co-Founder
More than a skin condition
Alopecia is often described by what can be seen: hair loss. For kids, its impact reaches into classrooms, friendships, and the everyday experiences that shape self-esteem — and many also live with dermatitis, eczema, redness, and irritation. Since 2004, CAP has shifted the conversation from growing hair to growing confidence.
A shared definition of comfort
CAP gives children and families confidence, peer support, and community — the freedom to move through the world without being defined by a condition. QIQ brings biome-friendly, skin-compatible care that creates an environment where skin can thrive.
“When my daughter Maddie started losing her hair, what our family needed most wasn't a cure. We needed community — and people who understood that a child is so much more than a diagnosis.”
Jeff Woytovich · CAP Founder
The Missing Link
Why HOCl matters for an alopecia-affected scalp
Skin that has never been covered by hair behaves differently. Here's the plain-language version of what changes — and where a gentle hypochlorous mist fits into the day.
The Exposed Scalp Problem
Hair is a physical barrier. Without it, the scalp takes on direct UV exposure, loses moisture faster, and meets sweat, friction, and headwear that covered skin never has to deal with.
A Different Kind of Care Need
Without hair's natural protection, exposed skin can run drier, more sensitive, and more reactive — especially under hats, wigs, or headwear worn for hours at a time. Comfort here isn't optional, it's daily.
Where QIQ Fits
A gentle, alcohol-free hypochlorous mist cleanses and calms exposed skin without stinging or disrupting its natural balance — daily comfort for daily wear. This is skin comfort, not a hair or scalp treatment.
